Dance)
Designated as an intangible cultural asset of Fukui Prefecture,
dates from more than 200 years ago. After its dedication to
the shrine, the "shishi-mai" visits the parishioners'
houses. |

Togei Taiko (Pottery
Drum)
Handed down from generation to generation in the "Ozowara"
area of the town, the drum performing art has been observed
on the initiative of young people in this area. This traditional
art is known for its unique "Daizuri" drum performing
method. |
Fusuma-no-miya Gagaku
(Imperial Court Music and Dance)
This traditional music and dance of the Japanese imperial court
has been handed down from generation to generation by the parishioners
of Fusuma-no-miya, a deity enshrined at Nagaoka Shrine in the
"Suenotani" area of the town. On the occasion of the
shrine's festival, the parishioners dedicates Gagaku dance pieces
(referred to as "bugaku") "Karyobin" and
"Urayasu-no-mai" to the deity. |
